ERIE — The IUP Crimson Hawks got humbled.

The Hawks went to Erie thinking they were ready to contend with the two-time defending conference champion, but the Gannon Golden Knights put them in their place.

Gannon whipped IUP by 27 points, 92-65, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference basketball game at the Highmark Events Center on Saturday. The Golden Knights, ranked 13th in NCAA Division II, imposed their will on IUP from start to finish and improved to 15-2 overall and 9-1 in the PSAC. IUP fell to 11-3 and 7-2 and lost its seventh straight to Gannon.
