Hardwell's half-court shot provides one of the thrills in IUP's 97-66 romp over rival California

Ali Hardwell had time to get a better shot.

IUP’s senior reserve guard came up with a steal at the opposite 3-point line with 4.1 seconds left in the third quarter, took two dribbles to midcourt and launched a shot toward the basket with two seconds to go.

Coach Craig Carey watched her unleash the shot, ready to let Hardwell have it in the huddle at the break because she could have taken two more dribbles for a more reasonable shot.

Then he watched the shot go in.
